Reconstructive surgery in Latvia has already more than thirty years of history and traditions. Joining the European Union has especially facilitated state development in the field of medicine. New standards for medical technologies and treatment of patients have been introduced; doctors have much more opportunities to obtain education and experience in other countries of the European Union. At the same time medical services in Latvia still cost much cheaper than in Western countries.
Ltd. „Wound Clinic” (Brūču klīnika) – private clinic dealing with specific medical problem of unhealing woulds – was founded in 2005.
The Wound Clinic treats and consults patients with:
- Unhealing wounds
- Ostemielitis
- Sore veins
- Mutilating scars
The staff of the Wound Clinic is a united team, composed of experienced professionals aiming at personal development and good results in their work. They try to approach every patient individually, diagnose the reason of the disease and to treat it in the right way for the particular person. Additionally, our doctors train the patients to avoid bedsores in the future and provide recommendations for the doctors of the hospitals and dispensaries on treatment and prevention of bedsores, as well as organise the seminars on medical problems of unhealing wounds for medical students.
The staff of the Wound Clinic fluently speaks in Latvian, English and Russian languages.
Already for almost 10 years the Wound Clinic has a good cooperation with prof. A.Freiberg from Toronto University and prof. U.Bite from Mayo Clinic who both helps the Wound Clinic in treatment of especially complicated cases. Professors also participated as the speakers in the First Baltic Reconstructive, Hand and Aesthetic Surgery Congress.
The Wound Clinic is situated in Riga and is within easy reach from the Riga International Airport, Riga Central Railway Station, Riga International Bus Terminal or the main auto roads.
